This role is responsible for overseeing mechanical engineering projects from concept, through execution and to completion. This includes planning and designing of mechanical systems and parts, ensuring projects meeting technical specifications, deadlines, and budgetary constraints.
Responsibilities- Managing mechanical engineering projects including design, development, execution and implementation.
- Coordinating with cross-functional teams in other engineering disciplines, operations, procurement, quality, etc.
- Conduct feasibility studies, cost estimates, and risk assessments.
- Monitor project progress and prepare reports on status, risks, and solutions.
- Ensure compliance with industry codes, standards, and safety regulations.
- Support installation, commissioning, and troubleshooting of mechanical systems.
- Effective communications with operations, vendors, and key business stakeholders defining project requirements and providing regular updates.
- Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field.
- Minimum of 3 years in mechanical engineering, preferably experience in the fiberglass industry.
- Proficiency in CAD software (e.g., AutoCAD, Inventor).
- Strong knowledge of mechanical systems, manufacturing processes, and engineering principles.
- Familiarity with industry standards (ASME, ISO, ANSI, etc.).
- Ability to manage multiple projects.
- Knowledge of furnaces, glass manufacturing preferable.
