Surgical Technologist - Float Pool Team

Atrium Health Wake Forest Baptist
, Wake Region. This role requires floating within the Wake Region across multiple hospitals:
Wake Forest Baptist Medical Center (Winston‑Salem, NC), Davie Medical Center (Bermuda Run, NC), Wilkes Medical Center (North Wilkesboro, NC), High Point Medical Center (High Point, NC), Lexington Medical Center (Lexington, NC).

Employee will provide surgical tech support in a variety of operating rooms, ensuring patient safety, instrument preparation, and infection control under the direct supervision of a Registered Nurse.

Schedule & Hours
  • Day shift – 3 × 12 or 4 × 10 schedule, with 2 weekend shifts per 8‑week cycle.
  • 2 Mondays and 2 Fridays per 8‑week cycle.
  • 1 major winter holiday and 2 minor holidays per year.
  • No call requirements.

Hours per week: 40. Sign‑on bonus available up to $5,000.

Compensation & Benefits
  • Pay range: $24.85 – $37.30 per hour.
  • Health coverage begins day‑one with copay or HSA‑eligible options.

Education & Certification Requirements
  • Graduation from an accredited surgical technology program or accredited nursing program.
  • Basic Cardiac Life Support (BCLS) certification.
  • Preferred:
    Certification in Surgical Technology.
  • Preferred: 3 years of experience.

  • Ensure quality patient care, safety, and advocacy through critical thinking, anticipation, and management of case‑specific needs under RN supervision.
  • Maintain cleanliness and timely management of instruments, equipment, and supplies.
  • Communicate effectively with team, co‑workers, and patients in a professional manner.
  • Take personal responsibility for performance, professional growth, and development.
  • Support cost‑containment activities for instruments and inventory.

Work Environment &

Physical Requirements
  • Potential exposure to infections, anesthetic agents, body fluids, hazardous chemicals, radiation.
  • Requires protective equipment: eye/face protection, gown, mask, gloves, hair covering.
  • Physically, ability to stand, walk, sit, bend, reach, and lift up to 20 lbs (maximum 50 lbs or as directed).
