• Status: Full time
• Hours Per Week: 40
• Pay Range: $19.45 - $29.20

• High school graduate or equivalent.
• Two years of age-appropriate phlebotomy experience preferred.
• CPR Certification.

• ASCP, AMT, ASPT or equivalent certification from an accredited Phlebotomy training program, including successful completion of a certification exam with passing scores.

• Adhere to general Medical Center standards to promote a cooperative work environment.
• Assure accurate and timely collection and identification of blood specimens.
• Follow proper safety and identification procedures at all times.
• Serve as a resource to staff and apply advanced phlebotomy knowledge in daily routines.
• Improve work skills through self-study and continuing education.
• Contribute to the smooth operation of the section and department.
• Protect self, coworkers, and facility by following policies to prevent spread of blood borne and airborne diseases.
• Promote professional image of laboratories in line with hospital and professional standards.
• Provide age-appropriate specimen collection per guideline.
• Maintain inventory and monitor expiration dates.
• Perform clerical functions including lab order entry into LIS, printing and delivering reports, filing, and requisition preparation.
• Perform specimen processing as per laboratory policies.
• May perform waived testing.
• May be asked to perform additional duties as assigned.
