• Join the growing team at our world‑class passenger railcar manufacturing facility in Lexington, NC! Siemens Mobility, Rolling Stock Division is the North American market leader in the production of passenger coaches, locomotives, and light rail vehicles.

What your day‑to‑day will look like
  • Perform scheduled vehicle movements throughout the facility with remote‑controlled heavy equipment
  • Apply strong mechanical knowledge to daily tasks
  • Secure rail vehicles using specialized tie‑down methods and materials
  • Direct Heavy Equipment Riggers to perform tasks to complete all scheduled moves in a safe and timely manner
  • Conduct visual inspections and establish quality checks on all equipment and rigging
  • Operate hand and power shop tools safely and effectively
  • Read and interpret blueprints; use hand and power tools with precision
  • Assist with special activities throughout the facility
  • Perform maintenance tasks based on production blueprints, parts lists, sketches, and verbal instructions, covering equipment used in production, transportation, or facility operations
  • Communicate clearly and follow instructions accurately
To thrive in this role, you have
  • A high school diploma, state‑recognized GED, or an equivalent blend of education and experience
  • At least three years of hands‑on experience operating heavy equipment
  • Proven proficiency in various rigging methods and tie‑down techniques
  • A valid driver’s license
Physical Demands
  • Candidates should be comfortable working in a non‑climate‑controlled environment when required
  • Job duties may require standing, walking, sitting, climbing stairs, balancing, stooping, kneeling, crouching, crawling, and using hands to handle objects or tools
  • Frequent verbal communication is necessary; occasional tasks may involve detecting odors
  • Ability to lift and/or move items up to 40 pounds is required
  • Specific vision abilities include:
    • Close and distance vision
    • Color differentiation
    • Peripheral vision
    • Depth perception
    • Ability to adjust focus

The base rate range for this position in Lexington, NC is $21.85/hr - $24.59/hr the salary may be higher or lower depending on the budget and the candidate’s experience, knowledge, skills, and qualifications.
