Position Overview :
Join the growing team at our world-class train manufacturing facility in Lexington, North Carolina. Siemens Mobility, Rolling Stock Division is the North American market, leader in the production of passenger locomotives and coaches, and light rail vehicles. As a Vehicle Paint Technician II, you will support a broad range of activities in a dynamic, high-energy production environment in the fabrication of carbon steel and stainless-steel car bodies for the best rail vehicles in the world.
What your day-to-day will look like:
- Prep, prime, and topcoat light rail vehicles.
- Hand, block and mechanical sand the car shell for primer and paint.
- Assist in top coating procedures and apply various coatings such as Tecytl and Convoy.
- Masks and cleans surface for proper adhesion.
- Primes and undercoats vehicle.
- Mix paint as required.
- A high school diploma or state-recognized GED, or an equivalent combination of education and experience in a manufacturing or similar environment involving painting or related materials.
- 2 to 5 years of experience in painting within a manufacturing or similar materials environment. Must be able to read and understand MSDS and TDS (Technical Data Sheets).
- Basic English communication skills, with the ability to effectively interact with customers, vendors, contractors, and fellow employees.
- The ability to read, write, and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, memos, and technical documentation.
- Proficiency in basic math, including addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division using whole numbers, fractions, and decimals.
- The ability to compute rates, ratios, and percentages, and to interpret bar graphs.
