The Second Helper supports the Melt Shop by handling various operational and maintenance tasks critical to the EAF, ensuring a safe and efficient environment.

• Assist the team with operation and maintenance of the EAF.
• Assist in upset conditions, sand ladles, and prepare and analyze slag samples.
• Ensure the furnace deck has required supplies.
• Operate an overhead crane and drop charges.
• Perform general housekeeping and other tasks related to the successful operation of the Melt Shop.
• Demonstrate the ability to initiate, lead, and uphold safety policies, practices, procedures, and housekeeping standards at all times.

• Willingness to work a flexible schedule, including unscheduled overtime, rotating shifts, weekends, and holidays.

• Current or previous experience working in a Melt Shop.
