Yard Jockey CDL A

Position Description

Immediate opening for a SOLO Class A CDL Yard Driver and we want the right Trucker to join us in Lexington, NC.

Pay:

• $1210 or more per week – and it gets better
• Driver positions pay weekly
• Hourly pay: $22.00 per hour
• Hours per week: 50 hours per week average
• Sign‑on bonus: $1250 at 30 days and $1250 at 90 days
• Paid training
• Schedule:
  
  Monday – Friday (Every 3rd week Sunday – Friday)
• Start time: 5:00 pm – 5:00 am

We want a yard switcher – no freight, no touch, just yard switching. Salary, schedule and benefits are all disclosed upfront.

• Safely handle and maneuver tractor trailers on the yard and within an area on public roads
• Comply with safety & DOT regulations, continuous training and customer service
• Ensure compliance with federal and state laws, regulations, and agency rules, standards and guidelines
• Detect and eliminate or minimize safety hazards
• Maintain accurate records and logs, including move and yard inventory records
• Perform other tasks as assigned

• Minimum 21 years of age
• Pass a Ryder drug test
• Pass a Ryder background and motor‑vehicle check (including drug/alcohol verification from previous employers for the last 3 years)
• Pass a DOT physical
• Pass a Ryder road test
• Provide appropriate CDL and endorsements for the position
• Must have Class A verifiable experience in a tractor‑trailer or comparable vehicle:
  • 9 months experience within the past 3 years, OR
  • 2 years experience within the last 5 years, OR
  • 5 years experience within the last 10 years
• Ability to follow written and/or oral instructions
• Ability to read, interpret and apply laws, rules, regulations, policies and procedures

Some positions may require additional screening such as employment and education verification, motor‑vehicle records check, a road test, or customer‑specific background requirements.

We pay unlimited bonuses for hired drivers. We will buy your truck if you’re looking to switch from owner‑operator to a company employee driver.
