Job Summary

We are seeking a dedicated and efficient Material Handler to join our team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for the safe and efficient movement of materials within the warehouse environment. This role requires a strong focus on safety, attention to detail, and the ability to operate various types of equipment. The Material Handler will play a crucial role in ensuring that materials are handled properly, stored efficiently, and delivered to the appropriate locations in a timely manner.

Applicant must have experience working in a metal fabrication environment.

Duties
  • Operate material handling equipment such as forklifts, clamp trucks, and pallet jacks to move products throughout the warehouse.
  • Load and unload materials from trucks and containers while adhering to safety protocols.
  • Perform heavy lifting of materials as required, ensuring proper techniques are used to prevent injury.
  • Maintain accurate inventory records by tracking materials received and shipped.
  • Assist in organizing and maintaining the warehouse layout for optimal efficiency.
  • Collaborate with warehouse supervisors to ensure smooth operations and address any issues that arise.
  • Follow OSHA regulations and company policies regarding safety practices in the warehouse environment.
  • Conduct routine inspections of equipment such as cranes and forklifts to ensure they are in good working condition.
Skills
  • Proficiency in operating material handling equipment including forklifts, clamp trucks, pallet jacks, and cranes.
  • Strong mechanical knowledge to troubleshoot minor equipment issues.
  • Experience with materials handling processes in a warehouse setting.
  • Ability to perform heavy lifting (up to 50 pounds) safely and effectively.
  • Familiarity with OSHA regulations related to warehouse operations.
  • Excellent organizational skills with attention to detail.
  • Strong communication skills for effective collaboration with team members and supervisors.
