Our company is currently seeking Construction Apprentices to support projects in the Columbia/Lexington areas. Apprentices will either be assigned to a pipe laying crew or a grading crew, depending on skills and abilities. Opportunities for growth within the company are available.
Responsibilities- Work will involve physical exertion of a practical nature.
- Individual may have limited or no experience in road and/or site construction.
- Activities include shoveling dirt, sand, using short or long handle shovels, digging holes using hand‑operated or post hole diggers, picking up sticks/roots from grading, brooming dirt and debris using hand brooms.
- Will be required to wear personal protective equipment (PPE) including hard hat, safety glasses/goggles, ear plugs/muffs, safety vests, gloves and Steel Toe work boots.
- Activities may take place at plants, new roads and streets, various building sites, and office or shop facilities.
- Must meet JCW employment standards with regards to preemployment drug test and random drug test.
- Ability to work safely and follow the policies and procedures of the company.
- The employee must regularly lift and/or move up to 50-60 pounds.
