Responsibilities
  • Coordinating daily tasks according to priorities and plans, making changes when necessary due to weather, supply, delivery, and personnel.
  • Sustain daily safety meetings with all crew members at the beginning of each job activity.
  • Clarify and explain to crew members the construction means and methods to be utilized during daily job activities.
  • Delegate individual responsibilities and projects to crew members and contractors.
  • Provide adequate resources and staffing to meet project schedules, laws, regulations, best practices, and safety needs.
  • Emphasize the safe use of tools, machinery, and equipment while providing training on safety gear, helmets, and procedures.
  • Resolve conflicts or miscommunications quickly and amicably.
  • Regularly report project status to supervisors.
  • Ensure a clean and organized work area, improving and maintaining good housekeeping practices.
Qualifications
  • Good verbal and written communication skills.
  • Ability to work under pressure.
  • Ability to oversee and coordinate a variety of people in different roles.
  • Ability to read and understand drawings and plans.
  • Thorough understanding of legal requirements relating to construction and building sites.
  • Thorough understanding of quality building practices.
  • Ability to quickly identify problems and efficiently solve them.
  • Must be familiar with the DOT specifications and requirements (for roadway and MOT operations).
