OverviewAs a Mechanical Engineer II for Apex Tool Group, you will be part of a global, diverse team that is dedicated to anticipating and reshaping how tools are made tomorrow — with higher quality at better cost. This position is based in Lexington, SC, and involves developing and improving industrial tool products from concept through production.
You will interface with engineering, sales, quality, production, and marketing personnel.

The Build (Responsibilities)- Innovate, create, and evolve new product ideas using Voice of Customer (VOC) and related techniques to support aggressive growth objectives for a mature and highly profitable business.
- Design, build, and implement various mechanical systems with a focus on high performance industrial tool products.
- Conduct tests, collect data, and evaluate results by applying multiple analytical methods.
- Design, layout, test, and troubleshoot new and existing designs.
- Partner with product management to translate product design features into engineering requirements and specifications.
- Drive sustaining improvements through failure mode analysis, performance optimization, and tradeoff studies.
- Partner with suppliers and contractors to ensure the product is developed on time and on budget.
- Provide feedback and expertise in cross-functional design reviews.
- Travel to customer and vendor sites as needed to troubleshoot problems and resolve issues.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
- Bachelor of Science Degree in Mechanical Engineering
- Experience with 3D CAD;
Creo 8.0 or later preferred - Experience with SAP is preferred
- Minimum 2 years of working experience with product design
- Basic understanding of machining principles and capabilities
- Strong mechanical and technical aptitude
- Well organized with the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously
- Excellent communication skills and teamwork
- Process-oriented and proactive with cross-functional collaboration
