48 hours per pay period (may be 8- or 12-hour shifts), days, nights, or weekends to cover vacation, sick time, etc.

The CT (Computed tomography) Technologist performs a variety of technical procedures to apply prescribed ionizing radiation for radiological diagnosis of patients.

• The CT (Computed tomography) Technologist Operates highly specialized, technical equipment to obtain quality images.
• Works with physicians, other healthcare providers and patients.
• Performs IV contrast injections and other skills as required.
• Evaluates and positions patients.
• Interprets information needed to identify each patients requirement and/or specific needs and provides care per applicable policy and procedures.
• Interacts with patients, families, visitors and all members of the healthcare team to develop, coordinate and manage the plan of care.
• Assists patients with scheduling, registration, file management and computer processing Trains students and staff as assigned.
• May need to travel to other Carilion facilities to meet patient needs.

High school graduate or equivalent. Graduate of an approved school of Radiologic Technology.

Employee pay is based on a variety of factors, including qualifications, credentials, education, and prior work experience. The compensation range does not include benefits or pension plan.
