Join the growing team at our world‑class passenger railcar manufacturing facility in Lexington, NC! Siemens Mobility, Rolling Stock Division is the North American market leader in the production of passenger coaches, locomotives, and light rail vehicles.

What your day‑to‑day will look like:
  • Lead critical non‑routine visual, dimensional, mechanical, electrical test, and functional inspections on a wide variety of components, assemblies, equipment, systems, supplies, and materials.
  • Work independently to perform complex and critical inspection processes, requiring special set‑ups of new or unique equipment and interpretation of test data from a variety of sources.
  • Train and/or oversee the work of less experienced inspectors.
  • May conduct first‑article inspection of parts and assemblies.
  • Prepare and approve inspection reports, charts, and records regarding quality measures, conformance status, and quantity of material processed.
  • Lead root‑cause evaluations and corrective actions using quality tools.
  • Prepare charts and conduct simple statistical analysis.
  • Coordinate ordering of consumables and small tools for department use.
  • Ensure assigned areas meet 6S standards and submit equipment maintenance requests.
  • Work effectively in a team environment.
  • Maintain a Safety‑First approach.
  • Understand QMS, Microsoft, SAP, and ISO standards.
  • Possess strong metrology tool skills for measurements and inspections.
  • Have good handwriting skills.
  • Solve complex practical problems and handle diverse situations where limited standardization exists.
To thrive in this role, you have:
  • HS Diploma or GED equivalency (minimum requirement). Directly related work experience will also be considered.
  • Two years or more of experience in a quality department.
  • Knowledge of TEAMS/SharePoint 2013, Teams, SAP, and other Microsoft products.
  • Knowledge of document control standards and protocols.
  • Knowledge of ISO 9001:2015 preferentially.
  • Knowledge of rolling‑stock and rolling‑stock components is preferred.
  • Strong background in use of metrology tooling.
  • 5% travel.

  • Ability to lift and/or move items up to 40 pounds required.
  • Specific vision abilities: close and distance vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, ability to adjust focus.
