Truck Driver CDL A – Ryder Supply Chain Solutions
Immediate opening for a SOLO Class A CDL Truck Driver at Ryder in Lexington, VA.
We will buy your truck! If you’re looking to switch from Owner‑Operator to Company Driver, we can help make the transition easier.
Compensation and Benefits- $1,800+ per week for 5 days worked ($2,200+ if working 6th & 7th days).
- Paid weekly.
- Assigned trucks.
- $1,200 safety bonus paid $300 every quarter.
- 60+ hours per week.
- Overnights on sleeper routes.
- Schedule:
Mostly Monday‑Friday with occasional weekends. - Health benefits start at 30 days.
- Paid time off starts at day 1 – 80 hours accrued in the first year.
- Deliver to SOLOTo: AL, TN, KY, LA, FL, AR, TX, MO, KS, OH, PA, VA, AZ, NM.
- OTR, sleeper tractor, 48' flatbed or curtainside trailer.
- Trucks are three years or newer; 24/7 roadside maintenance provided.
- Freight: load securement only – steel, strapping, tarping, chaining.
- Ryder will train on all equipment.
- Minimum 21 years of age.
- Pass a Ryder drug test.
- Pass a Ryder background and motor‑vehicle check (including drug and alcohol verification from previous employers for the last 3 years).
- Pass a DOT physical.
- Pass a Ryder road test.
- Appropriate CDL and endorsements.
- Class A experience in a tractor‑trailer or comparable vehicle.
- Experience:
9 months within the past 3 years, or 2 years within the last 5 years, or 5 years within the last 10 years. - Ability to follow written and/or oral instructions.
- Ability to read, interpret, and apply laws, rules, regulations, policies, and procedures.
Some positions require additional screening that may include employment and education verification, motor vehicle records checks, a road test, and/or customer‑specific background or badge requirements.
Responsibilities- Ensure compliance with applicable federal and/or state laws, regulations, and agency rules, standards, and guidelines.
- Detect and eliminate or minimize safety hazards.
- Maintain accurate records and logs.
- Load/unload freight or assist in loading/unloading as required by customer.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
