Pharmacy Technician

Introduction

We have an exciting opportunity for a Pharmacy Technician to join our Pharmacy Team at HMP Garth.

HMP Garth has a capacity of around 800 males and is a category B Prison located in Lancashire.

The Pharmacy Technician will work mainly medicines management and wing-based medicines administration. The pharmacy team are based within the healthcare department; however, the majority of work will be wing-based.

• Monday - Friday
• 37.5 hours over 4 days
• 7.30am - 5.30pm
• Weekend work will begin in the near future, around 1/4 weekends

Annual salary ranging from £34,428 to £41,658 depending on experience.

• Provide outstanding quality, patient-centred care, seeking out, listening to and acting on patient feedback so care is personalised and informed by what matters to them.
• Focus on safe and secure medicines management, ensuring patient medical records are maintained to the agreed standard and standard operating procedures are followed to a high and orderly standard.

• NVQ Level 3, or above, BTEC or equivalent
• Registration with the General Pharmaceutical Council
• Up-to-date with Continual Professional Development (CPD)
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
• Able to work unsupervised whilst following policy and procedures
• Experience in a hospital, community or prison environment (ideal but not essential)
