Leyland Trucks, part of PACCAR, is seeking an ambitious and commercially astute Purchasing Commodity Manager to join our established Purchasing Team in Leyland.

This is an exciting opportunity to play a key role in shaping supplier strategies, driving cost and quality improvements, and influencing purchasing decisions across one of the world's leading commercial vehicle manufacturers.

The Opportunity

As a Purchasing Commodity Manager, you'll lead sourcing, negotiation and supplier management activities within your commodity area, delivering measurable improvements in cost, quality and supply performance.

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead and influence cross-functional teams to deliver sourcing and product change projects
  • Develop and implement commodity strategies that support business objectives
  • Build strong, productive relationships with suppliers and key stakeholders
  • Drive cost reduction initiatives and support PACCAR's Cost Management Programme
  • Deliver improvements in quality, lead times and overall supplier performance
  • Analyse and interpret business data to support informed decision-making
  • Manage a varied workload while prioritising key business objectives
  • Champion the highest standards of health, safety, wellbeing and employee engagement
About You

We're looking for a proactive and commercially-minded professional who can build relationships, influence stakeholders and deliver results. You'll ideally have:

  • Strong negotiation, influencing and relationship-building skills
  • Commercial awareness and strategic thinking capabilities
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills
  • The ability to analyse data and translate insights into action
  • Experience managing competing priorities in a fast-paced environment
  • Knowledge of Quality, Engineering and Materials processes
  • A degree or equivalent professional experience
  • A full driving licence and passport, with willingness to travel internationally when required
