We’re looking for a compassionate Healthy Relationships Support Worker who is passionate about helping communities and supporting young people to build safer, healthier futures. You’ll work across schools, Pupil Referral Units and specialist schools, co-delivering an educational programme that raises awareness and improves understanding of healthy relationships in families.

This is a term-time only role, working 27 hours per week during school hours, making it a great opportunity for someone looking for meaningful work that fits around school routines.

You’ll organise and facilitate group work programmes for children and young people, using a learning and development approach across different age groups. You’ll support young people to recognise healthy, unhealthy and abusive behaviours, build confidence and self-worth, and access a safe environment where they can talk about their own experiences. We’re looking for someone who can build trust, communicate in a way young people can relate to, and create a supportive space where they feel listened to and understood.

• Organising and facilitating group work programmes for children and young people
• Co-delivering educational materials about healthy relationships and the impact of domestic abuse
• Assessing needs in relation to safeguarding, risk and safety planning, wellbeing, education, and social and family networks
• Empowering children and young people to make informed decisions and take control of their own lives
• Building trusted, supportive relationships with children and young people of different ages
• Working in partnership with schools, social care, police and other agencies to support safeguarding
• Keeping accurate written and electronic records and contributing to reporting for funding agencies

You’ll be someone who cares deeply about making a positive difference in local communities, with the confidence and empathy to engage young people in conversations that matter.

• Experience supporting children and young people
• Ability to communicate effectively in a variety of settings
• Knowledge of issues facing vulnerable young people and children with Special Educational Needs
• Ability to develop appropriate, supportive relationships with children and young people
• Understanding of childhood trauma and adverse childhood experiences
• Ability to work under pressure and use your own initiative to respond quickly to arising issues
  
  Access to a car for work-related journeys
• An appropriate qualification in teaching, youth and community work, social work, counselling or a related field
• Experience delivering educational programmes to children and young people
• Experience working in a school setting
• Experience of partnership or multi-agency working
