Assistant Volleyball Coach – Seward County Community College

Seward County Community College is a two-year institution offering 45 programs of study, including Adult Basic Education, certificate programs, and Associate of Arts, Science, General Studies and Applied Sciences degrees. Ranked in the top 5% of more than 1,100 accredited community colleges in the U.S. by the Aspen Institute, SCCC serves a student body of 2,500+ students ranging in age from 15 to 85, in a county with the highest foreign‑born percentage population in the U.S., and a rural service area of about 50,997 in seven Southwest Kansas counties as well as neighboring counties in southeastern Colorado, Oklahoma and Texas Panhandles.

• Assist the Head Coach with all responsibilities and duties of running a varsity collegiate sports program.
• Recruit student‑athletes and coach current student‑athletes.
• Community involvement will be expected for this position as it is an important aspect of the institution.
• Supervise student workers.
• Plan team travel and serve as a mentor for student‑athletes academic and athletic success.

• Coaching and training of current student‑athletes. Conducts pre‑season, in‑season, and post‑season workouts.
• Recruiting student‑athletes in state and out of state. This includes extensive travel all over Kansas and the United States.
• Manage recruiting and team travel money by turning in receipts in a timely manner and utilizing budget money with a conservative fiscal approach.
• Supervise student‑athletes academic progress to help them be on track for graduation.
• Organize community service events.

• A Bachelor’s degree required.
• Six to two years of similar or related experience (i.e. prior coaching and/or collegiate playing experience).
