Information Security Administrator
Long Beach City College is seeking a knowledgeable and collaborative Information Security Administrator to help protect the District’s information assets and support a strong cybersecurity environment. In this role, you will implement and maintain security architecture, standards, and tools; monitor security activity; and help identify and address potential risks. You will guide incident response efforts, support audits and compliance needs, and provide insight on secure system design and procurement.

- Implement, enforce, and continuously improve enterprise‑wide information security policies, standards, and procedures.
- Administer, document, and evaluate advanced security technologies such as firewalls, IDS/IPS, SIEM, EDR, and IAM platforms.
- Monitor and maintain security systems, investigate threats, and lead comprehensive incident response efforts.
- Conduct vulnerability assessments and risk analyses, prioritize findings, and coordinate effective remediation.
- Ensure regulatory compliance (FERPA, HIPAA, PCI DSS, GLBA) by maintaining evidence and supporting audits.
- Provide expert guidance on secure architecture, development practices, and technology procurements.
- Lead and mentor IT staff, contribute technical expertise during investigations, and support disaster recovery and business continuity planning.
- Communicate complex security concepts clearly, exercise strong independent judgment, and collaborate effectively with diverse stakeholders.
- Bachelor’s degree in computer science, information technology, cybersecurity, or a closely related field.
- Five (5) years of progressively responsible experience in network and information security, including enterprise security architecture, incident response, and compliance support.
- Preferred certifications: CISSP, CISM, CEH, or GIAC.

- Valid California driver’s license; ability to maintain insurability under the District’s vehicle insurance policy.
