Essential Job Functions:

• Prepare bakery and deli items according to customer requests using proper equipment.
• Offer product samples to help customers discover new items or inquire about products.
• Inform customers of bakery and/or deli specials.
• Provide customers with fresh products in correct portions to prevent shrinkage.
• Recommend deli or bakery items to customers.
• Use bakery equipment such as refrigerators, freezers, slicers, and ovens following company guidelines.
• Prepare foods following safety and cooking instructions.
• Measure, prepare, and mix ingredients using appropriate utensils and equipment.
• Label, package, and inventory ingredients and merchandise.
• Check product quality and review "sell by" dates.
• Properly use kitchen equipment, including stoves, scales, fryers, and steamers.
• Maintain inventory and stock levels, report discrepancies.
• Understand store layout and locate products as requested.
• Stay informed about current and upcoming promotions.
• Maintain awareness of inventory conditions and ensure proper temperatures and logs.
• Create a welcoming environment for customers.
• Adhere to food safety regulations and safety procedures.
• Inspect and maintain equipment, report repairs needed.
• Report accidents and unsafe conditions.
• Work effectively in a high-paced, stressful environment.
• Manage conflicts professionally.
• Act honestly and with integrity regarding customer and business information.
• Follow directions and seek assistance when needed.
• Support interactions with minors, individuals with special needs, and older adults.
• Perform essential functions with or without reasonable accommodation.

Minimum Position Qualifications:

• Customer service skills
• Effective communication skills
• Basic math knowledge
• Ability to obtain a food handler permit upon employment
