Job DescriptionCreate an outstanding customer experience through exceptional service. Establish and maintain a safe and clean environment that encourages our customers to return. Assist the department manager in reaching sales and profit goals established for the department and monitor all quality assurance standards. ResponsibilitiesEssential Job Functions:
- Prepare bakery and deli items according to customer requests using proper equipment.
- Offer product samples to help customers discover new items or inquire about products.
- Inform customers of bakery and/or deli specials.
- Provide customers with fresh products in correct portions to prevent shrinkage.
- Recommend deli or bakery items to customers.
- Use bakery equipment such as refrigerators, freezers, slicers, and ovens following company guidelines.
- Prepare foods following safety and cooking instructions.
- Measure, prepare, and mix ingredients using appropriate utensils and equipment.
- Label, package, and inventory ingredients and merchandise.
- Check product quality and review "sell by" dates.
- Properly use kitchen equipment, including stoves, scales, fryers, and steamers.
- Maintain inventory and stock levels, report discrepancies.
- Understand store layout and locate products as requested.
- Stay informed about current and upcoming promotions.
- Maintain awareness of inventory conditions and ensure proper temperatures and logs.
- Create a welcoming environment for customers.
- Adhere to food safety regulations and safety procedures.
- Inspect and maintain equipment, report repairs needed.
- Report accidents and unsafe conditions.
- Work effectively in a high-paced, stressful environment.
- Manage conflicts professionally.
- Act honestly and with integrity regarding customer and business information.
- Follow directions and seek assistance when needed.
- Support interactions with minors, individuals with special needs, and older adults.
- Perform essential functions with or without reasonable accommodation.
Minimum Position Qualifications:
- Customer service skills
- Effective communication skills
- Basic math knowledge
- Ability to obtain a food handler permit upon employment
