PSG Tech​/RRT II

To function as a professional sleep/respiratory therapist and apply theoretical knowledge to the care of infant, child, adolescent, and adult patients and clients. To demonstrate competence in Sleep/Respiratory Care skills, problem-solving, critical thinking, and priority setting. To recognize the need for professional growth and take appropriate steps towards meeting educational needs.

• Assessment - Assess patients, clients, and families, whose needs range from uncomplicated to highly complex and quickly recognize normal parameters, deviations, and abnormalities in physical, emotional, developmental, and behavioral status based on past experience as it relates to cardio-pulmonary health.
• Documentation - Demonstrates compliance with established practices in documentation. Documents routine observations, changes in procedure, and significant events in order to facilitate scoring and interpretation of polysomnography results.
• Clinical Judgment - Synthesizes and interprets multiple, sometimes conflicting, sources of data; uses past experiences to anticipate problems; seeks interdisciplinary collaboration and consultation; recognizes and responds to situations.
• Systems Thinking - Knows when and how to negotiate and navigate through the system on behalf of patients and families. Intervenes and leads others to change systems and processes as appropriate to support optimal patient outcomes.
• Patient Advocacy - Considers patient values and incorporates in care, when differing from personal values; supports colleagues in ethical and clinical issues; moral decision-making can deviate from rules; engages the patient's family, encouraging them to speak/represent themselves; protects patient and family rights.

• Bachelor's degree in a related field
• 2+ years of work experience in a related job discipline
• RT License, Registered RT, Registered Sleep Technologist
