Senior Estimator – Civil

An award-winning Kansas City based Civil Contractor is seeking a Senior Estimator to join their growing team. They are searching for someone with experience in structures. As a Senior Estimator you will be accountable for reviewing project plans and specifications, preparing quantity takeoffs and pricing all aspects of the project by quantifying and analyzing construction documents. You will estimate overhead components, complete unit pricing across multiple trade disciplines and perform system trade off comparisons by utilizing industry experience to develop cost estimates reflective of local market and project conditions.

• Prepare accurate and competitive cost estimates for bridge construction projects by analyzing project drawings, specifications, and other documentation.
• Conduct thorough reviews of potential projects to determine feasibility, risk, and profitability. Collaborate with the project management team to align project objectives and strategies. Compile project risk matrix and formulate risk mitigation strategies.
• Engage with clients during the bidding process to clarify project requirements, adjustments, and to foster strong professional relationships. Present and explain project proposals to clients, designers, and operations teams.

• Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, or a related field.
• Experience with estimation software (e.g., Agtek Gradework, Highway, Underground and Materials, AutoCAD, HCSS Heavy Bid, and/or Bid2
  
  Win, Bluebeam Revu)
• Proficient in Excel and Microsoft Office Suite.
• Strong understanding of construction processes, materials, and the latest industry standards.
