Orthodontic Assistant

Kansas City Braces & Kids is a growing orthodontic and pediatric dental practice dedicated to providing high-quality care in a fun, friendly, and welcoming environment. We are looking for an energetic and motivated Orthodontic Assistant to join our team and help create great smiles for patients throughout Kansas City and the Northland.

The ideal candidate is someone who enjoys working with patients, has excellent communication and customer service skills, and is a strong team player. Orthodontic experience is preferred, but on-the-job training is available for the right candidate.

This is a full-time, in-person position working alongside our orthodontists and clinical team. The Orthodontic Assistant will assist with patient care, orthodontic procedures, and the day-to-day clinical needs of the practice.

Duties include but are not limited to:

• Assist orthodontists with patient care and clinical procedures
• Four-handed dental assisting
• Take intraoral photographs, scans, and X-rays
• Assist with placement and removal of orthodontic appliances
• Assist with bonding, debonding, adjustments, and other orthodontic procedures
• Prepare and sterilize instruments and operatories
• Maintain a clean, organized, and stocked clinical environment
• Provide patients and parents with instructions regarding orthodontic treatment and appliances
• Document patient visits and complete clinical notes
• Monitor and maintain orthodontic supplies and inventory
• Help patients feel comfortable and confident throughout treatment
• Work as a team and assist other clinical team members when needed

• Enjoys working with children, teenagers, and families
• Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
• Ability to work in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment
• Orthodontic or dental assisting experience preferred
• Missouri Basic Skills and Expanded Functions certifications preferred
• Willingness to learn and receive additional training

Typical work week is Monday through Thursday, 8:15 AM – 1:00 PM and 2:00 PM – 5:00 PM, with occasional Friday mornings for in-office sedation appointments.
