Our client, a global leader in industrial equipment and engineered products, seeking a skilled Design Engineer to join their team on a 12-month contract. In this role, you will provide technical support for the sales and manufacturing of standard and customized products, ensuring compliance with company policies, safety standards, and certification requirements. The ideal candidate will have strong mechanical aptitude, proficiency in engineering software, and the ability to manage projects with minimal supervision.

Key Responsibilities
  • Design specialized products according to customer specifications.
  • Provide technical data in Configure-Price-Quote (CPQ), Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP), and related systems to support sales and manufacturing.
  • Perform stress calculations and finite element analysis.
  • Ensure accuracy of engineering procedures, drawings, installation instructions, and product documentation.
  • Develop product quotes, including price, lead time, and cost estimates.
  • Communicate technical details effectively with customers and vendors.
  • Evaluate tooling availability for special product manufacturing and provide cost quotes for necessary tools.
  • Identify and apply process improvements in engineering workflows.
  • Participate in continuous improvement initiatives.
Required Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or related discipline.
  • High mechanical aptitude with ability to interpret manufacturing drawings.
  • Proficiency in advanced mathematics and engineering calculations.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Knowledge of relevant engineering standards and certification codes.
  • Experience with Microsoft Windows, Office, CAD, Product Data Management (PDM), CPQ, and ERP systems.
