Job SummaryThe Permitting & Regulatory Affairs Manager will lead all local, state, and federal permitting processes for Ba Rup On ’s energy and infrastructure projects. This role ensures compliance with environmental regulations, utility interconnection rules, zoning laws, and construction codes. The ideal candidate is highly organized, detail‑oriented, and experienced in managing regulatory pathways for large‑scale infrastructure or energy projects.
Key Responsibilities- Develop and manage permitting timelines and strategies for utility‑scale projects
- Interface with permitting authorities, utility commissions, and environmental agencies
- Prepare and submit applications for air, water, land use, interconnection, and construction permits
- Track and interpret federal/state regulatory changes that affect infrastructure development
- Coordinate environmental assessments (EA, EIS, CEQA/NEPA) and consultant deliverables
- Maintain a regulatory compliance matrix and ensure cross‑functional adherence to conditions
- Represent Ba Rup On in public hearings, agency meetings, and stakeholder sessions
- Support early‑stage site selection with feasibility input based on permitting risk
- Bachelor’s degree in Environmental Policy, Urban Planning, Public Administration, or related field
- 5–8+ years of experience in permitting, environmental compliance, or regulatory affairs
- Experience in power generation, renewable energy, or industrial infrastructure sectors
- Strong knowledge of CEQA, NEPA, CWA, CAA, FERC, EPA, and state utility board requirements
- Exceptional communication, project management, and government liaison skills
- Ability to manage multiple projects and interact with engineers, consultants, and legal counsel
- Experience with federal loan guarantee programs (e.g., DOE LPO) and associated regulatory requirements
- Familiarity with site control, land use entitlements, and energy facility siting processes
- Public speaking and negotiation experience in agency settings or community meetings
