Senior Accountant

Base pay range

$80,000.00/yr - $/yr

Our client which is a small CPA firm is looking to bring on a Senior Tax Preparer, due to growth!

• Our client is a small full-service accounting and tax company that specializes in small businesses in a variety of industries plus an expansive individual tax consultation.
• Located in the Northern suburbs
• Responsible for day-to-day activities including preparation of Federal and State tax returns, local government filings and other tax related functions as required. In addition, will prepare local tax returns, business licenses, personal property tax returns, and annual reports.
• They believe in work/life balance, offering flexible hours, regular season work 4 days a week with Friday off, and during tax season 6 days a week, no overtime.
• Excellent benefits, including 401K match and healthcare.

• Prepare or assist with Federal and State income tax filings, primarily 1040, 1120S, and 1065s.
• Project taxable income as needed for the above-mentioned entities.
• Assess State income tax requirements for entities.
• Other duties as assigned.

• A bachelor’s degree in accounting required.
• A minimum of 4 years of tax experience required, with Federal tax compliance experience.
• Experience working from a Public Accounting firm is a plus.
• CPA desired but not a must.
• Must possess strong interpersonal skills and be able to work and communicate effectively.
• Must be a team player and willing to accept a variety of tasks associated with this position.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, Outlook) is required. Experience with CCH Access is a plus.
• Communication:
  Able to clearly express ideas; present verbal information in a straightforward manner; ask questions to open channels of communication; listen to understand perspective of others.
