SEDOL OverviewWelcome to the Special Education District of Lake County. SEDOL is a cooperative educational system working with 31 local school districts to serve students facing physical, emotional, and other learning challenges. Substitute Paraprofessionals and Teachers are needed on a continuous basis to support absences, vacancies, LOA/FMLA, and teachers in special education classrooms at various locations throughout Lake County, Illinois for the school year.
ProgramsGages Lake School (Gages Lake, IL): K - 5th grade EL/ALT, SAB (Shaping Appropriate Behaviors). This program supports students with significant emotional and behavioral challenges, delivering therapeutic interventions tailored to each student's unique needs.
Fairhaven School (Mundelein, IL): K - 12th grade, LASSO 3. A therapeutic public day program that serves students with specific educational needs, featuring a 1:1 student-to-teacher ratio.
Sector Program (31 school districts of Lake County): EC - 12th grade, LASSO I & II, Vision, TAB, ELS, ECH. This program provides students with a variety of challenges an appropriate education within a general education environment, ensuring academic and social success.
Qualification- STA (Short-Term Approval) – High school diploma, official high school transcripts, or GED.
- ELS (Para) License – Associate’s degree (60 college credits) and Para Pro Test score of 460 or higher.
- SUB – Bachelor’s degree or higher.
- $21.04 per hour with STA, Para, or STS license.
- $136.76 / $150 Daily with SUB license.
- Flexible schedule – choose what days you want to work.
- Offer 5 days of paid training.
