• Design coherent instruction, select appropriate instructional activities, and assess student learning.
• Create a respectful environment, establish a culture for learning, manage classroom procedures, behavior, and organize physical space.
• Communicate clearly and accurately, use questioning and discussion techniques, engage students in learning, provide feedback, and demonstrate flexibility and responsiveness.
• Maintain accurate records, communicate professionally, contribute to the school and district, grow and develop professionally, and show professionalism.

• Current valid Illinois Professional Educator License (PEL) with a Middle School Language Arts Endorsement.
• Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university in Education or a related field.
• Preferred – Two (2) years of successful teaching experience working with a diverse population.
• Preferred – Four (4) years of prior successful teaching experience working with a diverse student population in an urban school setting.

• Standing, walking, sitting, stoop, kneel, crouch, crawl, lift up to 100 lbs.; save time.
• Close vision, distance vision, peripheral vision; safe; competence.

183 days per the collective bargaining agreement.

$46,405 – $88,799; salary commensurate with experience, plus comprehensive benefits (medical, dental, life insurance).
