• Eligible for step increases yearly through year seven topping out at $121,631. Then at year 10 the pay is $122,690 and at year 20 the pay is $124,607.

• Minimum of 21 years of age by the Final date to receive applications date (February 11, 2026)
• Be UNDER 35 years of age at the time of application and at such time as the initial eligibility list is posted, unless exempt from such age limitations as provided in Section 5/10.2 1-6 of the Fire and Police Commissioners Act
• Be a high school graduate or possess a G.E.D. equivalent
• Possess a valid POWER test card
  -OR- equivalent criteria as per the State standard, issued within 1 year prior to the written exam date, February 21, 2026;
  Applicants must present the POWER Test card NO LATER than February 21, 2026
• Upon employment, the applicant will be required to sign a cost recovery agreement. A copy of the cost recovery agreement can be furnished to the applicant upon request
• Pay a $45.00 non‑refundable application processing fee
