Overview
Certified Registered Nurse Anesthetist (CRNA), Libertyville - Full Time
Join Advocate Health Care as a CRNA in Libertyville. This role provides all elements of pre-anesthesia, anesthesia, and post-anesthesia services in collaboration with the surgical team.
Major Responsibilities- Provide all elements of pre-anesthesia, anesthesia and post-anesthesia services including general, regional, and monitored anesthesia care consistent with anesthesia plan and in collaboration with the surgeon/anesthesiologist/surgical team.
- Manage conditions based on clinical indication, evidence-based care, cost effectiveness, and assessment of risks/benefits and alternatives.
- Participate in preoperative evaluation including assessment, exam, obtaining informed consent, ordering/administering pre‑medications, and review of preoperative studies.
- Ensure readiness and availability of equipment, supplies and medications to perform the planned anesthetic.
- Deliver anesthesia care including induction, maintenance, support of life functions, and emergence from anesthesia.
- Select, obtain, and administer anesthetics, adjuvant drugs, fluids, and temperature-regulating devices; assess response and intervene as needed.
- Perform post-anesthesia duties, facilitate safe transfer of care, administer post-operative analgesia as appropriate, and address anesthesia-related complications.
- Manage emergency situations by assessing, stabilizing, and determining disposition, including advanced airway management and ACLS readiness.
- Maintain accurate, complete, concise, and timely documentation in the electronic medical record; comply with coding and billing practices.
- Participate in quality, safety and peer review initiatives, education, onboarding of new team members, and ongoing professional development.
- Active RN and APRN license(s) in state(s) of practice, AND active national board certification as CRNA by NBCRNA.
- Active DEA registration prior to hire.
- If Illinois practice: active Illinois Controlled Substance License prior to hire.
- Active ACLS, PALS, NRP as required by clinical site/practice and/or role prior to or within 6 months of hire.
- Education Required:
Master’s Degree in Nursing;

No experience required. - Knowledge, Skills, And Abilities:
High level of clinical proficiency, strong decision-making, ability to work independently and in a team, adaptability to technology and EMR proficiency, excellent communication and collaboration, strong organizational skills and prioritization.
- Must have functional vision and hearing.
- Lift up to 50 lbs from floor to waist; lift up to 20 lbs overhead; carry up to 40 lbs; push/pull with 30 lbs of force; perform a sliding transfer of 150 lbs with assistance.
- Must be able to sit, stand, walk, lift, squat, bend, reach above shoulders, and twist frequently during shift.
- Must be able to use foot pedals on carts or machines; may be exposed to hazards (mechanical, electrical, chemical, radiation, blood and body fluids); wear gloves, goggles and gowns as needed.
