Senior Geotechnical Engineer Edinburgh | £45,000 - £60,000 A leading multidisciplinary consultancy is looking to appoint a Senior Geotechnical Engineer to join their established team in Edinburgh, working on a range of major renewable energy and infrastructure projects across the UK. This is a varied role covering both technical delivery and project management, with opportunities to work across wind, solar, battery energy storage and associated energy infrastructure.
The Role Leading geotechnical inputs into renewable energy projects from feasibility through to detailed design Reviewing and interpreting ground investigation data and developing ground models Producing and reviewing geotechnical reports, specifications and technical documentation Geotechnical design including foundations, earthworks, slopes and access tracks Supporting foundation assessments for wind turbines and other renewable infrastructure Geotechnical assessment of cut and fill, retaining structures and temporary works Planning and managing ground investigation programmes Providing technical input to multidisciplinary project teams Managing projects, budgets, programmes and client relationships Liaising with contractors, clients and other technical specialists Mentoring and supporting junior and graduate engineers Requirements Degree in Civil Engineering, Geotechnical Engineering or a related discipline Chartered or working towards Chartered Engineer status Strong consultancy experience within geotechnical engineering Experience delivering geotechnical projects from investigation through to design Good understanding of UK ground conditions and relevant design standards
Experience with geotechnical software such as PLAXIS, SLOPE/W, WALLAP or GEO5 would be beneficial Strong technical report writing and communication skills Full UK driving licence This is a great opportunity to join a large multidisciplinary consultancy and work on technically challenging projects within the rapidly expanding renewable energy sector, with clear opportunities for progression into technical leadership and project management.
