Trainee Management Accountant
Salary: Apprentice £10.85 - £12.71 per hr, £20,932 - £24,521 per annum.
Actual salary £19,012 - £22,271 per annum
Working Hours: 37 hrs per week, Monday to Thursday 8.00 am – 4.00 pm, Friday 8.00 am – 3.30 pm, Term time only (38 weeks, plus 15 days when students are not in school)
Contract: 18 months for AAT, with the possibility 20932to study for CIMA thereafter
Start date: End of August 2026

Primitas Learning Partnership is now a Trust of 8 schools across the Lichfield and Burntwood district of Staffordshire. There are 2 High schools, 5 Primary schools and 1 Special School in the Trust, all of which are OFSTED ‘Good’ Schools.
We are seeking a motivated and organised individual to join our central Finance and Administration team as a Trainee Management Accountant
. This is an excellent opportunity for someone looking to develop a finance career within an education setting, while gaining practical experience across a growing Multi-Academy Trust.
The successful candidate will support a range of finance activities, including purchase and sales ledger work, bank reconciliations, management accounts, budget monitoring, variance analysis, audit preparation and financial reporting. Working closely with experienced finance colleagues, academy staff and senior leaders, the role will provide broad exposure to education finance and academy trust operations.
This structured development role includes study towards the AAT Level 4 Diploma in Professional Accounting
, with potential future progression to a Level 7 Chartered Management Accountancy apprenticeship through CIMA
, subject to performance, organisational requirements and apprenticeship availability. Study support will be provided through a training partner, alongside workplace mentoring from CIMA-qualified finance leaders.
We are looking for someone with A Levels at grades A–C, ideally including Maths, Economics or Business. The ideal candidate will be accurate, enthusiastic, willing to learn and able to work effectively with colleagues across the Trust.
This role is based at our Head Office in Lichfield, with occasional travel to academies in Lichfield, Burntwood and the surrounding villages.
