Overview

We are working in partnership with a well-established, high-volume fresh food manufacturing site to recruit a Night Hygiene Manager. This role is critical to site performance, food safety, and audit readiness, with full responsibility for hygiene delivery during the night shift.

The business operates in a fast-paced, short shelf-life environment where hygiene standards are treated as a foundation of success, not a tick-box exercise. This is a strong opportunity for an experienced hygiene leader who enjoys ownership, structure, and setting standards that enable the site to perform every day.

Responsibilities

As Night Hygiene Manager, you will be responsible for leading and delivering the site’s hygiene function on nights, including:

* Managing and developing the night hygiene team to deliver consistent, high standards

* Planning, coordinating, and verifying nightly cleaning and sanitation activities

* Ensuring compliance with food safety, BRCGS, and customer hygiene requirements

* Ensuring production areas and equipment are clean, safe, and ready for day-shift start-up

* Managing hygiene chemicals, COSHH, and safe systems of work

* Conducting hygiene inspections, verification checks, and ATP testing where applicable

* Driving continuous improvement in hygiene practices, efficiency, and team capability

* Supporting audits, investigations, and corrective actions as required

This is a hands-on leadership role with real accountability and visibility.

Candidate Profile

We are keen to speak with candidates who can demonstrate:

* Proven experience in a Hygiene Manager or Senior Hygiene role within food manufacturing

* Strong understanding of food safety, hygiene systems, and BRCGS standards

* Experience leading teams on night shifts in fast-paced environments

* A calm, structured, and standards-driven approach

You’ll be someone who takes pride in setting standards, leading by example, and ensuring the site starts every day in the best possible position.
