CNC Grinder Setter Operator
• Permanent position • £39,500 to £47,800.00 per annum depending on experience

Our client, based in Fradley, Lichfield, has an exciting position available due to internal growth and expansion for a CNC Grinder Setter Operator to join their team. The company supports industries such as aerospace, medical, power generation, and motor sports by solving complex manufacturing challenges and improving process efficiency. The client would also be open to a CNC Miller who would like to transition into grinding.

About the Role

With your engineering background, you’ll be responsible for setting up, operating, and maintaining 5/6 axis CNC grinding machines—primarily Walter Helitronic and Rollomatic Tool & Cutter Grinders. You’ll also work with Helicheck inspection systems and be involved in wheel dressing and balancing. Excellent company to work for with a full benefits package and a clean, tidy working environment.

• When you start you will be required to work: (Monday to Thursday - 38 hours) during training
• Monday 9am to 7pm
• Tuesday and Wednesday 7am to 7pm
• Thursday 7am to 1pm
• The position will then move onto (Thursday to Sunday - 38 hours)
• Thursday 1pm to 7pm
• Friday and Saturday 7am to 7pm
• Sunday 7am to 5pm

• Set up and operate CNC grinding machines to produce precision carbide tooling
• Maintain product specifications and inspect output using appropriate measuring equipment
• Monitor machine performance and troubleshoot issues

• Minimum 4 years of 5 axis machining / setting experience; tool grinding experience is a definite advantage
• Ability to read technical drawings and use inspection equipment
• Time-served apprenticeship preferred, or equivalent experience in engineering
• Familiarity with Microsoft Word, Excel;
  AutoCAD knowledge a plus
• Strong attention to detail and ability to diagnose machine issues

• £39,500 to £47,800
• Days (38 hours per week) - Thursday, Friday, Saturday and Sunday
