The vacant post is full time, fixed‑term, working 37.5 hours per week. Requests to work flexibly and/or part time will be considered, taking into account business needs.

Main duties of the jobThe role will give full support to the Line Manager in ensuring the provision of a comprehensive and professional physiotherapy/rehabilitation service for entitled personnel. This will include undertaking highly skilled and specialist work in the musculoskeletal/sports and training injury area.

Job responsibilitiesDuties and responsibilities for the role include but are not limited to:
- Perform highly skilled physio therapeutic assessment of patients referred by the Medical Officer or regional physiotherapy teams. Presentations may include complex and acute/chronic physical and psychological conditions plus sports injuries. Use clinical reasoning skills to provide an accurate clinical diagnosis.
- Formulate, develop and deliver a specialised individualised treatment programme based on evidence‑based practice, manual assessment and appropriate clinical reasoning.
- Communicate effectively with patients to ensure informed consent, good understanding of their conditions and maximise rehabilitation potential. Be aware of communication barriers such as English as a second language.
- Adhere to Ministry of Defence (MOD) policies while delivering a service within a MOD establishment.
- Support and attend weekly and monthly Special Interest Group and Clinical Governance Meetings where audit, research, service and policy development is presented within the multidisciplinary team environment.
