Summary

We are seeking experienced, skilled Dental Assistants to join our team at Hawaiian Island Dental. In this role, you will play a vital part in supporting our dental procedures and enhancing the patient experience in our welcoming office. We welcome trainees (no prior dental experience) who have experience in the following areas: CNA duties in-home or facility care, medical reception/records, veterinary care, laboratory, phlebotomy, pharmacy, hospital, financial or banking, sales and customer service.

Responsibilities
  • Assist the dentist during various procedures and treatments.
  • Prepare and sterilize instruments and equipment according to infection control protocols.
  • Take and develop dental radiographs as needed.
  • Maintain accurate patient records and manage appointment scheduling.
  • Educate patients on proper oral hygiene practices and post-treatment care.
  • Monitor patient vital signs during procedures as necessary.
  • Ensure the dental office is organized and well-stocked with supplies.
Qualifications
  • Proven experience as a Dental Assistant or similar role in a dental, medical, veterinary or patient care facility.
  • Knowledge of dental procedures, terminology, and instruments.
  • Familiarity with HIPAA regulations and infection control standards.
  • Ability to take accurate dental radiographs using 3D scanning technology is preferred.
  • Strong communication skills to interact effectively with patients and team members.
