Position: Human Services Professional IV (Autism Spectrum Disorder) - Kauai District

Description

This posting is used to fill Human Services Professional positions that provide services to students at various schools within the Kauai District as needed and assigned by the Kauai District Office.

Salary Range

All new external applicants will be placed on the initial step of the salary range. Placement above the initial step will depend on qualifications, position needs, and other factors. Hawaii State Department of Education employees will be placed according to regulations.

Human Services Professional IV, SR-22: $5,258.00 - $6,399.00 per month

Examples of Duties
  • Improve clients' quality of life through remediation, prevention, and service coordination among professionals and agencies.
  • Establish respectful relationships with clients and utilize helping interventions.
  • Provide program support to school teams and families of students with autism spectrum disorders.
  • Service students' IEPs, including parent training, leading paraprofessionals, case coordination, autism-specific training, and collaboration with families and school teams.
  • Level IV involves handling complex cases and exercising authority.
  • Minimum Qualifications Basic Education

    Bachelor’s degree from an accredited institution with at least 12 semester credit hours in relevant courses. Demonstrated ability to write reports, interpret complex material, and solve problems.

    Experience

    2.5 years of responsible experience in human services, including supervisory and administrative aptitude. Specific experience with autism spectrum disorders is required.

    Additional Requirements
    • Possession of a valid driver’s license.
    • Autism Spectrum Disorders experience of at least 1 year, including developing intervention plans, participating in multidisciplinary teams, and providing training.
