About Wilcox Medical CenterFounded in 1938, Wilcox Medical Center is a not-for-profit medical center dedicated to providing accessible quality health care to the Kaua‘i community. It is the largest medical center on Kaua‘i, featuring a state-of-the-art acute care facility with 30 specialties and programs, including cardiology, emergency, family practice, gastroenterology, health management, internal medicine, neurology, OB-GYN, oncology, orthopedics, pediatrics, and urology. The center has an 18-bed emergency department, four birthing suites, seven intensive care beds, and 20 same-day surgery beds.
Wilcox is the first American College of Surgeons-verified Level III Trauma Center in Hawai‘i and is part of Hawai‘i Pacific Health, a leading healthcare system in the state.
Our Perioperative Services department supports patients throughout their surgical journey, including ward admission, anesthesia, surgery, and recovery. We focus on identifying individual needs, developing care plans, and coordinating nursing services to restore health before, during, and after surgery.
Role DescriptionIf you possess exceptional patient care skills and enjoy working within a dedicated nursing team, you can help us ensure a safe, comfortable, and therapeutic environment for our patients and their families as a Registered First Assist Nurse. Your responsibilities will include providing direct patient care during surgery, with a focus on the intra-operative period and preoperative assessment. We seek qualified, sensitive individuals with strong communication skills, a team-oriented mindset, and a commitment to delivering high-quality healthcare in Hawai‘i.
Qualifications- Current Hawai‘i Registered Nurse License
- Current AHA Healthcare Provider BLS and ACLS CPR cards
- Three (3) years’ experience as a scrub and circulating nurse in the operating room or related experience
- Current RN First Assist certification
