, you’ll serve on the front line of aviation security—ensuring public safety, safeguarding airport facilities, and upholding the spirit of aloha through professional service. You will monitor and patrol assigned areas, conduct routine patrols, and remain highly visible to support a positive atmosphere. This position requires you to be armed and to operate a vehicle as part of your responsibilities. - Position Type:
Part Time – Afternoon - Pay Rate: $28.86 per hour + $3.58 hourly bonus (premium paid based on actual work hours)
- Schedule:
Tue 2:00‑11:00, Thu 2:00‑10:00, Sat 2:00‑11:00
- 2+ years of professional law enforcement experience in the U.S. after graduating from a certified law enforcement academy (Federal, State, or County level)
- Graduate of Law Enforcement or Military Police Training Program or equivalent (must provide credentials upon applying)
- Valid driver’s license
- Law Enforcement Officer license
- 22+ years of age
- No felony convictions or convictions for abuse of a household member under the Lautenberg Amendment to the Gun Control Act of 1968 (18 U.S.C. § 922(g)(9))
- Provide customer service to clients by carrying out security‑related procedures, site‑specific policies, and when appropriate, emergency response activities.
- Respond to incidents and critical situations in a calm, problem‑solving manner.
- Exercise sound judgment and render immediate, appropriate decisions under stressful conditions.
- Maintain high standards of conduct, maturity, and professional behavior.
- Follow orders, accept responsibility for actions, and cooperate with airport management, tenants, and other law enforcement agencies.
- Maintain alertness and attentiveness, recognizing and responding promptly to situations.
- Communicate effectively, both verbally and in writing, in English.
- Interact courteously with the public, airport employees, tenants, law enforcement, and security personnel.
- Attend court appearances for citations issued on behalf of DOTA if required.
- Good physical health and the ability to stand, walk, patrol for shifts, and lift up to 25 lbs.
- Perform essential physical tasks with or without reasonable accommodation.
- Pass a 12‑panel drug test and random drug screens.
- Pass a one‑time physical examination within the past six months.
- Correct visual acuity of 20/30 with normal color vision.
- Normal hearing; a hearing aid may be used.
