• Performs vehicle maintenance and repair duties including standard vehicle maintenance and preventive maintenance
• Diagnoses complex mechanical and electronic problems utilizing diagnostic computer when applicable
• Completes complex and detailed mechanical inspections and repairs with minimal supervision
• Replaces defective components as instructed
• Works unsupervised on most tasks
• Performs facility maintenance duties
• Interacts with customers/drivers to determine nature of the complaint
• Utilizes Shop Management System and electronic documentation
• Complies with all safety, DOT, MOT guidelines
• Acts as mentor for Tech 1 and Tech 2 levels
• Accesses and uses internal and external maintenance documents
• Supports operations with other duties as needed

• High school diploma or equivalent preferred
• Vocational or technical certification preferred
• Basic tools required
• Three or more years of relevant experience in mechanical repair of automotive gas or diesel engines
• Routine preventative maintenance knowledge (oil changes, brakes, tires)
• Basic diagnostics including AC and electrical systems
• Valid CDL Class A preferred
• All location-specific certifications as required
• Minimum 2 years of experience with mechanical repairs and diagnostics on heavy- and/or medium-duty equipment
• Knowledge of PC skills (Windows, etc.)
• Must be able to obtain CDL within 6 months after hire
• Pass Ryder drug test, DOT physical, road test, and background check (last 3 years)
