Permanent Full‑Time Experienced Mid‑Level Diesel Technician supporting the Truck Fleet at Ryder in Lihue, HI.

• Hourly Pay: $34.12 per hour
• Sign‑on Bonus: $3,000 total ($1,500 at 30 days, $1,500 at 90 days)
• Tool Box Incentive: $300 yearly allowance
• Certification Bonus: $100 for each new ASE certification (up to $700)
• Quarterly Bonus: up to $500 per quarter – four times per year

• High school diploma or equivalent preferred
• Vocational or technical certification / post‑secondary degree preferred
• Basic tools required
• Experience with mechanical repair of automotive gas or diesel engines, including routine preventative maintenance (oil changes, brake and tire work)
• Basic diagnostics and repairs, including AC and electrical systems
• Three or more years of relevant work experience (preferred)
• Valid commercial driver license (CDL) Class A (preferred)
• All additional certifications required by location (required)
• Minimum of 2 years of experience with mechanical repairs and diagnostics on heavy‑duty and medium‑duty equipment
• Computer skills: PC, Windows, mouse, etc.
• Must be able to obtain CDL within 6 months after hire
• Pass a Ryder drug test, DOT physical, Ryder road test, and Ryder background/Motor Vehicle check (includes drug and alcohol verification from previous employers for the last 3 years)

• Perform vehicle maintenance and repair duties, including standard and preventive maintenance
• Diagnose complex mechanical and electronic problems using diagnostic computers when applicable
• Complete complex and detailed mechanical inspections & repairs with minimal supervision; work unsupervised on most tasks
• Interact with customers/drivers to determine the nature of complaints once assigned a task
• Utilize key functions of the Shop Management System and electronic documentation
• Operate in accordance with all federal / provincial / corporate compliance guidelines (safety, DOT, MOT)
• Act as a mentor for Tech 1 and Tech 2 levels
• Access and use internal and external maintenance documents
• Perform other support duties as required to support operations (e.g., Service Island support)
• Complete SBTIII training within 180 days (SBT
  220)
• Complete two OEM online diagnostic scan‑tool software courses within 365 days (as required by location)
