If you're still looking for that great place to work, and you're an experienced Steel Estimator, let's talk. We are hiring Estimators to help grow our business preparing accurate structural and miscellaneous steel estimates. Your knowledge of structural and miscellaneous steel fabrication and erection is required. The ideal candidate will have experience in Bluebeam, Tekla, and Power Fab, with excellent numerical skills and an analytical mindset.

You must be thorough and apt in steel takeoffs, estimating, customer relationships, and co-worker relations. Your Goal - is to produce accurate, high quality estimates and proposals which convert into positive revenue.

• Manage a high volume of estimates and proposals to meet the company's goals and expectations.
• Effectively communicate with all industry stake-holders and partners - fellow fabricators, general contractors, suppliers, design community, and other representatives or consultants.
• Optimize job costs by negotiating prices with vendors/sub-contractors through quotations for material/services.
• Coordinate bid preparation requirements with the Contract Administrator.
• Interface with Owner and contractors to provide engineering and cost data regarding project feasibility.
• Prepare budgets, subcontracts, purchase orders and assist in preliminary project schedules.
• Ensure proper project hand off when project is taken over by PM/Team.
• Review proposal specifications, drawings, and conditions to determine scope of work.
• Estimate Indirect cost including management, construction equipment and tools.
• Be an example and mentor when appropriate to other estimating staff.
• Maintain strong and positive relationships with operations teams.
• Build relationships with key vendors (subcontractors, suppliers, engineers etc.).
• Provide consultation on planning (schedules, manpower needs etc.).

• 5+ year’s steel construction estimating experience.
• Experience with estimating software(s).
• Proficient in relevant software (Bluebeam, Tekla EPM, Power Fab, etc.)
• Excellent communication skills with a strong math aptitude.
• Experience in industrial & commercial structural & miscellaneous construction work.
• Able to work with speed, accuracy, and consistently meet deadlines.
• Experience in conceptual estimating and design build.
• Strong business communication and leadership skills, supervisory experience preferred.
• Understanding of the influence of market conditions on pricing.
