What You Will DoAll Lowe’s associates deliver quality customer service while maintaining a store that is clean, safe, and stocked with the products our customers need. As a Sales Floor Department Supervisor, this means:
- Providing resources and tools to support our associates in delivering best customer service.
- Assisting with down‑stocking and area recovery and providing input into merchandising decisions.
- Monitoring use of store power equipment and coaching employees on safe behaviors and lifting techniques.
- Coaching, training, delegating, and following up on daily tasks to manage associate performance and ensure adequate coverage.
- Greeting customers, clarifying needs, identifying solutions, and closing sales.
- Managing inventory, down‑stocking, and area recovery activities that are non‑customer‑facing.
- Conducting safety walks, reporting hazards, and ensuring awareness of safety and lifting directions.
- Overseeing associates in other departments as required to meet store demands.
- Occasionally opening or closing the store or serving as Manager‑on‑Duty (MOD).
- Traveling occasionally for meetings, training, or to support neighboring stores.
- High School Diploma or equivalent, plus either 3 years of retail experience OR 5 years of retail experience.
- 1 year of customer service experience.
- 1 year of experience supporting the unique needs of Pro customers (for Pro Department Supervisor).
- Experience providing direction or supervision to teams (with or without direct report responsibility).
- Experience supporting or participating in training, mentoring, and developing associates.
- Experience working cross‑functionally.
- Experience using Microsoft Office Suite.
- Physical ability to perform tasks that require prolonged standing or sitting, and to lift 25 lbs without assistance (lifting over 25 lbs with or without assistance is acceptable).
- Ability to obtain sales‑related licensure or registration as required by law.
- 3 years of retail customer service experience.
- 3 years of experience supporting the unique needs of Pro customers.
- Leadership role with direct report responsibility.
- Experience in the home‑improvement retail sector.
- Experience in a fast‑paced, dynamic retail environment.
- Experience in a key carrying role with Manager‑on‑Duty responsibilities.
- Experience with store computer systems (e.g., Project Tool, Genesis, Sterling, M2O, Thin Client).
