The Mercy Express driver will provide curb-to-curb vehicle transport of clients between two locations. The role involves assisting clients in transportation within SRHP facilities, providing timely, efficient and safe transport to and from various departments, and operating both wheelchair and Mercy Express transportation.
Responsibilities- Transport clients by wheelchair to and from appointments.
- Transport clients by wheelchair for hospital discharge.
- Maintain proper reports and records.
- Provide safe, efficient transport and proper care.
- Care for vehicle and equipment.
- Serve as a patient advocate.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
- Practice Mercy Core Values.
- Participate/attend required and mandatory trainings.
- Maintain confidentiality and actively support patient/family rights.
- Required Minimum Education: High School Diploma or GED.
- Preferred Education: High School Diploma or GED.
Licensure/Certification
Required:
Valid Driver’s License.- Licensure/Certification Preferred: AHA Healthcare provider BLS (within 30 days of hire).
- Licensure/Certification Preferred: First Aid Training (within 30 days of hire).
- Licensure/Certification Preferred: IS 100, IS 700.
- Licensure/Certification Preferred: DRIVE Training within 60 days of hire.
- Minimum Years and Type of Experience: 1–3 years.
- Other Knowledge, Skills and Abilities Required: Completion of Emergency Vehicle Operations Course (EVOC) within 1 year of hire.
- Required: IS 100; IS 700 within 6 months.
