Job Details:

• Assume responsibility and accountability for care of assigned patients on shift

• Assess, plan, implement and evaluate patient care using age-specific criteria

• Make clinical judgments based upon scientific knowledge and clinical skills

• Assist in planning, directing, and teaching non-RN staff such as LPN/PCT and Unit Secretaries

• Must be committed to reporting for all assigned shifts and be on time

• 2+ years of nursing experience required

• Every other weekend schedule required

• No on-call responsibilities

• Must be competent with cardiac medications including Cardizem, Amiodarone, Nitro, Heparin, Cardine, Dobutamine, Lasix, and Bumex

• Knowledge of titration and application of cardiac medications required

• Must be competent in telemetry and possess knowledge of heart rhythms

• Must possess critical thinking skills and ability to recognize changes in patient status and intervene

• Must possess knowledge of signs/symptoms of stroke and ability to recognize changes in patient status

• Strong communication skills required

• Required certifications: ACLS (AHA), BLS (AHA), NIHSS

• Active Ohio or Compact RN license required

• Skills checklist current within 1 year pertinent to Med Surg/Telemetry specialty required
