Responsibilities- Manage and schedule maintenance services to support plant operations and facilities engineering.
- Plan, direct, and control the efforts of the Maintenance Department to maintain equipment and facilities using engineering and project management best practices.
- Take a proactive approach to prevent repairs and install, replace, or troubleshoot complex mechanical equipment and distribution systems.
- Ensure all work complies with safety procedures and local building and safety codes.
- Shift: Either Day Shift (6AM‑6PM) or Night Shift (6PM‑6AM).
- Supervise, interview, hire, train, mentor, appraise, reward, discipline, and resolve performance issues for employees.
- Develop facility and equipment maintenance procedures and serve as project manager for plant equipment implementation.
- Collaborate with Plant Manager and Operations Manager to develop annual facilities and equipment improvement plans.
- Direct staff in electrical, electronic, hydraulic, and pneumatic maintenance and repair of machinery.
- Lead emergency repairs on process equipment and perform preventative and predictive maintenance on complex systems.
- Inspect facility equipment daily and perform production startup and coverage tasks.
- Assist with troubleshooting repairs (PLC, electrical, mechanical, pneumatic, hydraulic).
- Suggest PLC program modifications to improve performance and reliability.
- Direct staff in the use of specifications and repair ordinary refrigeration, plumbing, and electrical systems.
- Assist in equipment installation and provide technician training.
- Validate technician skill levels and provide advanced troubleshooting training.
- Coordinate outside contractor schedules and material ordering.
- Maintain computerized maintenance systems (EAM/Oracle).
- Communicate effectively across all levels and departments, including corporate engineering functions.
- Associate’s degree in an industrial‑focused curriculum;
Bachelor’s degree preferred.
- Minimum seven years of industrial maintenance experience, with at least three years in a supervisory/leadership role.
- Preferred additional experience or certification: PMP;
Ammonia Operator Level 1 & 2; PLC programming and troubleshooting; wastewater treatment plant knowledge; certified welder; certified boiler operator.
