Role DetailsPosition Overview
This is an entry-level, onsite IT support role in a fabrication job shop environment. The IT Support Technician will provide day-to-day technical support for shop and office employees and serve as the on-site point of contact for IT issues, working closely with our managed IT provider (G6) for guidance and escalation. This position also includes assisting with CNC and machine programming support as needed to help keep shop operations running smoothly.
Training and support will be provided.
Schedule: Monday to Friday, 7:00 AM – 4:00 PM
Location: Lima, OH
Level: Entry‑Level / Early Career
- Provide daily IT support for shop and office personnel (user accounts, computers, printers, basic network issues)
- Set up new computers, troubleshoot hardware/software issues, and support routine technology needs
- Maintain shared drives, map network folders, and assist with basic server permissions
- Troubleshoot VPN and remote‑access issues under guidance from G6
- Document IT procedures and troubleshooting steps for consistency and continuity
- Assist with CNC and machine programming support as needed, including:
- Dragon tube cutter/notcher (handrail work)
- Plasma table
- Marvel bandsaw
- Press brake
- Create and update setup sheets, post files, and nesting programs under supervision
- Follow established NIST SP 800‑171 security and maintenance procedures (training provided)
- Technical diploma or associate degree in IT, Computer Science, Manufacturing Technology, or related field
- Basic knowledge of Windows systems, file sharing, and user administration
- Strong troubleshooting skills and attention to detail
- Willingness to work in both office and shop environments
- Interest in learning CNC, fabrication systems, and job‑shop operations
- Good communication skills and a team‑oriented mindset
- CompTIA A+ or Network+ certification
- Familiarity with CAD/CAM or CNC programming software
- Experience in a fabrication shop, job shop, or industrial environment
- Exposure to AutoCAD, Pro Nest, Mastercam, or similar software
- Hands‑on role with real responsibility and visibility
