American Traveler is hiring an experienced RN for a Progressive Care Unit (Cardiac) night shift position requiring post-operative open heart care experience and an active OH or compact RN license.
Requirements- Active OH or Compact RN license required
- Current BLS and ACLS certification (AHA) required
- Post-operative open heart care experience required
- Critical care experience highly preferred
- Required experience with chest tube and drain management
- Required experience with pre- and post-procedure care for radial and femoral access patients
- Proficiency in cardiac monitoring including reading and interpreting rhythm strips and recognizing changes required
- Advanced knowledge of cardiac and pulmonary abnormalities required
- Experience assisting with chest tube removal, pericardial pacing wire removal, and management of temporary pacers (pericardial and transcutaneous) required
- Experience with non-invasive ventilation (NIV) devices, high-flow oxygen, and other oxygen delivery systems required
- Skills checklist current within 1 year pertinent to PCU specialty required
- Work in the 3 South Cardiac Progressive Care Unit (PCU) of a hospital setting
- Unit has 26 beds with a patient ratio of 4-5:1
- Uses Medi Tech EMR
- 12-hour night shifts with every other weekend required
- No on-call requirements
- Required to float to all units within scope of practice and skill set
- Responsible for assessing, planning, implementing, and evaluating patient care using age-specific criteria
- Assists in planning, directing, and teaching non-RN staff such as LPN/PCT and Unit Secretaries
- Navy blue scrub dress code required
- Candidates residing within a 45-mile radius of the facility are considered local travelers and subject to a reduced travel rate
