American Traveler is hiring an experienced RN for a Progressive Care Unit (PCU) position requiring post-operative open-heart care experience and an active OH or compact RN license.

• Work in the 3 South Cardiac unit of a hospital setting
• Patient ratio of 4-5:1 with 26 beds on the unit
• Uses Medi Tech EMR
• 12-hour day shifts with every other weekend required
• Floating required to units within scope of practice and skill set
• No on-call requirements

• Active RN license (Ohio or Compact) currently in hand
• Current certifications: BLS and ACLS (AHA)
• Minimum 2 years of nursing experience required
• Post-operative open-heart care experience required
• Critical care experience highly preferred
• Required experience with chest tube and drain management
• Required experience with pre- and post-procedure care for radial and femoral access patients
• Proficiency in cardiac rhythm monitoring and interpretation required
• Advanced knowledge of cardiac and pulmonary abnormalities required
• Experience assisting with chest tube and pericardial pacing wire removal required
• Experience managing temporary pacers (pericardial and transcutaneous) required
• Experience with non-invasive ventilation, high-flow oxygen, and other oxygen delivery systems required
• Skills checklist pertinent to PCU specialty required, current within 1 year

• Provide direct patient care including assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation using age-specific criteria
• Assist in planning, directing, and teaching non-RN staff such as LPN/PCT and Unit Secretaries
• Navy blue scrub dress code required
• Candidates residing within a 45-mile radius of the facility are considered local travelers and subject to a reduced travel rate
• Requests for more than 7 days off or more than 50% of holidays off may affect processing timeline
• No more than 5 days of RTO can be requested
