• Perform installation, repair, and maintenance of refrigeration and air‑conditioning equipment, including cold and tropical rooms for testing extreme conditions.
• Install and maintain steam and hot water heating systems, high‑pressure steam lines, sprinkler systems, and piping for air, oil, gas, paint, acids, solvents, etc.
• Cut threads, bend, file, burr, ream, and install pipes, couplings, unions, elbows, flanges, valves, and other fittings.
• Work with cast iron, brass, stainless steel, and other metals; use all pipe fitting tools, including taps, portable power pipe threaders, gas torches, hacksaws, drills, benders, and more.
• Lay out, install, and repair plant plumbing systems (toilets, showers, drinking fountains) per underwriters and municipal standards; locate, diagnose, and correct plumbing issues.
• Occasionally handle or manage hazardous waste.
• Operate trade tools and equipment, including pipe cutters, threaders, benders, soldering irons, hacksaws, blow torches, snakes, caulking tools, etc., and work with metallic, vitreous, and plastic materials.
• Read and work from blueprints.
• Operate crane (up to 50 tons).
• Obtain and maintain Department of Army Police unescorted access, security clearance, and current state driver’s license for in‑plant vehicle operations.
• Successfully complete pre‑employment drug screen, background check, and other required processes.

• High school diploma or equivalent (GED).
• At least 18 years of age.
• Journeyman status with a 4‑year state‑approved apprenticeship or 8 years of documented trade experience.
• HVAC maintenance/repair experience; HVAC certification preferred.
• U.S. citizenship.
• Ability to obtain and maintain security clearance.
• Ability to read and work from blueprints.
• Valid state driver’s license.

• Work in production environments including stairs, ladders, and equipment.
• Work from ladders, scaffolds, or swing stages when necessary.
• Lift and carry minimum of 40 lbs.
• Work in inclement weather, extreme heat and cold, confined spaces, high noise areas, dust, and fumes.
• Wear personal protective clothing, respirators, and protective gear as required.
• Work at heights and on elevated surfaces.
• Work any shift, including overtime as required.
